Age of Love - The Age Of Love (Brainbug Remix)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gDtOqGecZcendofvid [starttext] "The Age of Love" is the 1990 self-titled single of the Age of Love. The song is notable because it is often seen as the earliest example of trance music. Released in 1990, some consider "The Age of Love" to be the first true trance single. Produced by Bruno Sanchioni and Giuseppe Cherchia ( G.Chierchia is the real name of Pino D'Angiò , famous italian artist and singer), with vocals by Karen Mulder "The Age of Love" was originally released by the Belgian label Diki Records. In 1992, the React label released Jam and Spoon's "Watch Out For Stella" remix, which gained more popularity than the original track and opened up opportunities for remixes by artists such as Paul Van Dyk and Brainbug. To this day, the track continues to be remixed and featured on compilations, and the historical significance of the original remains well known. As of February 2007, the online resource Discogs has cataloged a total of 73 known releases, and 346 appearances on compilations. Sanchioni and Cherchia never released another single under the moniker "Age of Love"; Sanchioni would continue to produce as part of the trance music act BBE. Brainbug is a symphonic electronic trance music and progressive house project from Venice, created by Italian producer Alberto Bertapelle. Nightmare appears in the soundtrack of several movies, such as Human Traffic, Playing by Heart, Freddy versus. Jason and A Night at the Roxbury, and is currently played during the second half kick-off at Leeds United home games at Elland Road as well as being the entrance music for the 2013 Elite League Nottingham Panthers Ice Hockey team. The music video was directed by Tim Claxton and was inspired by 1950s science fiction films, and the films of Ed Wood. Further singles The 8th Dwarf (1997) and Rain (1998) took the formula established by Nightmare and Benedictus and explored some different areas. Rain features lyrics by Italian singer Nadia Casari, who also appears in the music video. Several remixes by various artists have been released on Brainbug's singles, and not all of Bertapelle's originals are obviously titled. "Nightmare (Sinister Strings Mix)" and "Benedictus (Exitiale Mix)" are examples of this. The Maxi-CD release of Rain also features those original mixes, although "Benedictus (Exitiale Mix)", while not labeled as an edit, was edited slightly shorter. Brainbug has also added his symphonic trance touch to other artists' works through various remixes. Sadly, in November 2016, Alberto passed away from a suspected heart attack at 58 years old.
